One of the opening films of Austin’s SXSW Film Festival will be the premiere of The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye tonight, March 11, at 8:30 p.m. at the Alamo Ritz theater. I intend to be there.

The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye documents the modern love story between Genesis P-Orridge—founder of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV and one of the most influential figures in underground music since the 1970s – and Lady Jaye, his closest artistic collaborator for 15 years. Director Marie Losier trains her sensitive, tactile vision on “Creating Their Pandrogyne”, the couple’s attempt to dissolve the physical boundaries between them and become the same person. Mixing interviews, home movies, and performance footage, Losier brings us nearer to the artists than ever in a playful and moving revelation of a new romantic consciousness.”

On Tuesday March 15 there will be another screening at 3:30 p.m. of The Ballad Of Genesis at the Alamo Ritz followed that night with a performance by Psychic TV at 12:30 a.m.at club Elysium. “This will be the first time Psychic TV in any form has performed in Austin since 1988. Expect a highly psychedelic performance full of long, joyous jams and trademark video projections!”

I will be attending all events assuming my cocaine-infused Red Bull arrives.
