I’ve never seen a cat loathe somebody, as much as this cat, Sashimi, hates YouTuber “Soezimax.” Sashimi hates him so much, he/she actually attacks him like a rabid Rottweiler!

Here are Soesimax’s thoughts on incurring the wrath of Sashimi:

I am disliked by a cat.The name of the cat is “sashimi”. She attacks me at the risk of life. The fear! The seriousness of the animal! Why would it be it in such a thing?

Old Greg says:

That cat is an asshole. And despite what the internet will tell you, most of them are.

Veronica says:

I can never watch one of these without wondering if someone hurt that kitty to make it mean for YouTube. I really hope not.

John says:

As someone who has experienced a similar thing with an adopted alley cat, I will say that this cat has been abused and can’t yet get over it. When I first met a cat that my mother brought in it leapt up and shredded my arm. It trusted no one for a long time.

Perhaps the cat is mad over being named after Dead Fish.

This cat totally needs the “My Cat from Hell” guy from tv.

smudgeon says:

He’s dead. Simple as that. If Wikipedia and Stephen King movies have taught me anything, it’s that animals don’t like the living dead.

rosko says:

Dude, just give it a treat already, instead basically antagonizing it, then it will come around.

Cats are not mostly assholes, people are assholes, and cats can sense that.

That Japanese guy is a douchebag. Leave the damn cat alone already.

Drown the fucker

Lucie says:

It could be that this cat was abused, but some cats are just not fully tame. Could be genetic. Especially white cats - they really seem to be skittish, and this cat was mostly white. But yeah, he needs just to leave her alone. Pretty funny.

shep says:

Pffft, from the description I was expecting cat from hell or something. If you stalk up on any animal it’s going to hiss and snap. That cat was practically playing.

RJ says:

Cats don’t “loathe” anyone. “Cats that threaten their owners usually have star-crossed beginnings. If they were not adequately handled, petted and socialized when they were between five and twelve weeks of age they may grow up to be fearful, wary of people or easily upset and angered.” In other words they were mistreated.

Why this would be the source of amusement for human beings is beyond me. It’s shows a basic lack of empathy and/or understanding of animals in general and cats specifically.

I’ve noticed that Tara seems to have a thing for posts about cats being mistreated: Just the other day we were treated to a cat being forced to play piano. Very sad indeed.

Moonmad says:

Never met a cat I didn’t like there may be something more here than meets the eye. As for Tara’s posting of mistreated cats, maybe she wants to draw attention to the creeps that do it?

Bob B. says:

I’m a cat person, but I haven’t & won’t watch these videos because I strongly suspect, judging from the text-info. & comments, this cat was likely abused, either by the person in the video, or by others.
If the cat’s agitated & behaving aggressively (or defensively) because it’s been abused (as I suspect) I’m not the least bit interested in watching it or considering such clips as “entertainment”. I didn’t watch the earlier video of the cat at the piano either, as I had doubts about it (justified,I see, according to prior commenter). Enough cat(or any other animal) abuse-related videos as “entertainment” already.

My sister had a cat like that. It had a name but I called her Hiss. Just an all around mean, nasty cat.

ScottC says:

simple. The cat is seeing its reflection in the camera’s lens and is reacting to a competitor. The cat may also associate the guy with the camera so he attacks both.

Phos.... says:

Some cats…very few, as far as I’ve seen…are just flat-out nuts. I’ve seen turn-on-a-dime behavior in dogs and birds, too. Maybe this is just one that has mental problems…

I’m a cat-guy, always have been. I’ve loved all 7 of the cats I’ve had over the past 35 years.

My buddy has a big (22 lbs) white Tom named Gato. Neutered, front declawed. He’s had cats for just as long as I have, and they were all sweet and well treated.

Gato will greet you and be all nice, and rubby and purry, and friendly one minute, and a crazy hissy, growly, batting, biting demon tiger from hell the next. One night I was there, the house is quiet and I’m sitting at the kitchen table surfing the ‘net, and Gato comes out of nowhere and sinks all four fangs into the side of my calf underneath the table and then jets off into some hiding place. I bled like mad for about an hour…these were gum-deep muscle punctures. They took months and months to fully heal. 18 months later I can still see the marks very distinctly.

I love cats especially, and all animals, generally, but if I hadn’t been so shocked, and if he’d've stuck around, I’d've goal-posted that motherfucker.

sadcat says:

Yep, that’s an abused cat alright. So sad.

I had a roommate who dumped one of those on me when he moved out. Literally took /years/ before it would let humans try to engage it without flying into a rage.

Give it room, let it initiate contact. You’ll never /ever/ have it’s full trust, but at least you can have a decent pet if you let it heal at it’s own speed. You can’t force it, you’ll only perpetuate it if you try.

Love it from afar. Only it can decide when it’s ok. And even then, always give it first move, never take it for granted that you have any love from the creature. Only it can decide.

That abused cat my roommate left? Eventually became very loving, desperately needy even (which is sad too), but always needed it’s own space to decide.

Animal abusers will rot in hell.

Rob says:

I’d toss that cat out the window.  It’s an animal.  Animals don’t belong indoors with humans.  Any pet-lover who keeps an animal indoors only does so for selfish reasons.  All of those weirdos who claim they looooove their indoor pet and give themselves whacked-out titles as “Pet Parents” are a disgrace to the human race.  When an animal acts up like this(shown in the videos),  it needs to be either tossed out the window, bagged and thrown off a bridge over water, or EATEN.  It’s a feline.  Humans need to stop enslaving themselves to these animals…feeding them, cleaning up their vomit, cleaning up their shit and piss, etc, etc.  It’s pathetic.
Get a life, your cat doesn’t love you.  It only wants food….quit lying to yourself.  It’s healthier to interact with REAL PEOPLE.  Chicks get cats because they are alone and broken….that’s so selfish.

Morgan says:

Rob, you sound like the one who’s alone and broken. You have issues, freak.

Shinywen says:

Wow Phos, your story of Gato is the only thing I’ve heard like my current situation. I’ve had my cat for 10 years, he is loving and sweet and is loved very much in return. But about 6 months ago he started having “psycho attacks.” Out of the blue he will suddenly try to kill me. 5 minutes later he’s fine again. Happens once a week or so, can find NO pattern to what might be triggering it, vet couldn’t find any physical problems…  He has done the exact same thing you reported Gato doing, sinking his teeth into my leg muscle-deep and then dashing off. I’m bewildered and very sad, as my only option right now seems to be keeping him at a safe distance from me at most times.

Cat pest says:

Owww… poor guy, trying so hard to bond with the cat… But the cat thinks he’s another cat! Cats are territorial loners for a good reason - there’s a limited amount of food in any one area. They hang out with humans because they treat them as a mother or brother/sister cat (they sometimes stay in small groups in the wild). Then he’s doing a whole bunch wrong body language things to the cat.  First, staring straight in the eyes is very aggressive to a cat or dog unless they are bonded and the animal is very trusting. Creeping forward slowly is exactly what two male cats do before fighting.
Look at the cat’s face in the second one. It starts off fairly calm, then a bit worried, then it goes ‘oh shit’ and lashes out.
If you want to make friends with a cat, slow-blink at them, ie look at them with hooded eyes and then deliberately blink slowly. Another trick is to extend a finger or a pencil to them and they will touch it with their nose (but they will do it only once). The guy in the vid is trying to reach the cat with his hand cupped up, like a lashing paw.
My sweet and docile cat went like this when I left home and my younger relative got a dog. It was like he had a nervous breakdown.
btw - de-clawing is a terrible thing to do to a cat, it ruins their tendons (they can’t stretch properly any more) and like any amputated limb (they dont just remove the claw but the bottom ‘finger’) causes them phantom pain for the rest of their lives.
