Yeah, I really don’t know what’s going on here either. Happy Friday!

Read the lyrics.

And yep, there’s a remix for that!

Alison says:

I think “what’s going on here” is that a woman with a physical disability, a good sense of humour, normal (who knows?) sex drive and no sense of rhythm is making A Good Point, and I’m disappointed in DM for missing it entirely.

Elloise says:

When Dangerous Minds does a piece on its fav popy stars, they are always written about at length with a fawning deference and all credit given.
This musician is dismissed with “I really don’t know what’s going on here either” - A nice little patronising pat on the head and run along dear and let the ‘real’ people get on with the proper stuff.

Christ, are we going backwards. Would Ian Dury and Robert Wyatt get the same treatment these days. I really do wonder - sad, sad, sad….!

@Elloise

To answer your question, if Robert Wyatt did a YouTube video with a freestyle rap about how his “penis weren’t busted,” then, yes, I think he’d get the same treatment here at DM.

Michael Damone says:

At first, I was so conflicted. I didn’t know how to feel or what to think about this. Was I sad? Inspired? Should I cry or laugh?  I hoped not laugh. It haunted me - like the famous scene in The Elephant Man.  But now, hours later, I really feel that she is making a great point through art; That she is still a human. This may just be the best example that I have ever seen of the definition and goal of ART.

Monkey's Uncle says:

Perhaps some of the reactions are due to how uncomfortable the topic is that is being expressed by this young woman. I know a man with cerebral palsy who had a child with a woman.

I have an awkward feeling thinking about it. Some more food for thought, 50 or so years back people with challenges like this would have been placed in a mental ward. Worse yet, in Nazi Germany they would have been killed.

Props.  I have been rhyming for over 16 years and invite everyone to do so, it is most liberating and stimulating. I have grown a little more, with a wide satisfying grin from having experienced her video. Thank you sister.
