Musician Roberto Carlos Lange of Helado Negro and Savath and Savalas and visual artist David Ellis have been collaborating on these ingenious pieces for the past couple of years. They explain what they’re up to in the clip below but in a nutshell, they embed midi-controlled solenoids within everyday objects, thus turning the detritus of the modern world into remotely controlled funky drum sets.
