‘Voices’: Jean-Luc Godard, The Rolling Stones and the making of ‘One Plus One’

Richard Mordaunt’s documentary on the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s film One Plus One (aka Sympathy For The Devil), starring The Rolling Stones, from 1968. Originally started by John Stember, the film was finished by Mordaunt, after Stember quit, as he explains:

My cameraman Richard Mordaunt finally completed the documentary he called ‘Voices’ as both Godard and I quit the project in protest over the producers who screwed us both because of our differences with them over the creative integrity of our films. Therefore this is not the documentary about Godard that I had envisioned or originally intended when he gave me the rare opportunity to make the film. It was unfortunately high-jacked by our producers so they could give it the spin they wanted. Needless to say it did not work as Godard is still highly respected.
