Dr. James Hansen, the nation’s leading scientist on climate issues speaks out with the full truth about global warming. His new book is titled Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth About the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance to Save Humanity. One day there will be statues in honor of James Hansen. Let’s just hope they don’t end up like the Statue of Liberty did in Planet of the Apes. Dr. Hansen is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

Very good interview.  Ironic that here in Canada today a prominent former minister and adviser to our Prime Minister wrote a letter to the newspaper Le Devoir to defend our government’s intransigence on climate change and to attack climate science.  The former minister, Maxime Bernier, concluded, “What is certain is that it would be irresponsible to spend billions of dollars and to impose unnecessarily stringent regulations to solve a problem whose gravity we still are not certain about.”  But even if Bernier is right to be skeptical, surely it is better to take action and be wrong than to wait until we are truly certain.  And why are most climate scientists more certain than M. Bernier?

Well a good effort to aware people of such serious facts! The increase in the man-made emission of greenhouse gases is the cause for global warming and because of it sea levels are rising due to thermal expansion of the ocean, in addition to melting of land ice and the amounts and patterns of precipitation are also changing.

Boudewijn van Maanen says:

I have read Dr.Hansen,s book “Storms of my Grandchildren” It will be seen as a mold breaking documentation of the most important issue facing humanity in the near to long term future.
It should be compulsory reading for all high school students politicians and public administrators.

I am grateful for Dr.Hansen’s excellent and coherent exposure of the climate threat in all its manifestations.

I, as many of my friends and fellow citizens, have been engulfed in an overwhelming feeling of powerlessness and frustration in the face of the misinformation by vested interests and contrarians.
I have resolved my frustration in the best way possible for me. I have bought 10 issues of the book and handed them through to members of my contacts who are the best placed to contact and influence other members of the public, with the request to follow suit. If that is not financially possible, then by circulating individual copies to at least 10 other contacts.
I hope that in this way more people, in particular the younger generation will become more factually aware of the facts and potential threats of the world climate abuse in all its avoidable forms.
