Very interesting looking upcoming doc about the history of South African punk rock. The newer bands look like a snooze but it’s probably worth watching to learn about the once completely illegal apartheid era groups.

thank you! i’ve been reading a lot about apartheid and post-apartheid SA and this really fills a gap for me, like “where the hell were the non-plastic white people?” this is heartening but i feel a little odd that the current punk shows seem to be a predominantly white affair. why are apartheid-era shows and punk culture so radically integrated when that was fucking strictly illegal? and now none of that?

I’d give Fuzigish a listen. Newer (1997) punk but political too. They seem to be missing from the docu but I’ve yet to see the whole thing. Good Chit all the way around!
