Everytime I see that image of Pike online I want to puke. It’s not funny in any context.

I suspect that when Pike is at home alone (once his mother has gone to bed), and he’s got bored playing Call Of Duty, he gets out the Van Damme DVD and starts masturbating. Then, realising his sad existence, he cries. Angered by his weeping, he vents by torturing one of the small animals he keeps in a cage until it dies. The next day is better. He gets to dress-up in his riot gear to bully some kids with cameras and their smart ass fancy book learnin’ attitudes. With his little penis almost erect, Pike sprays an entire line of peaceful protestors. It is the greatest single moment of his life.
That night, Pike ignored Call Of Duty and the Van Damme DVD’s. In a state of euphoria, he goes to bed and masturbates hard to the memory of the kids he sprayed with his whoop-ass can, including the pretty little bitch third from the left. He sleeps, at peace, excited abut what the government will let him do in the coming days, weeks and months.

I was all set and ready to out you as an American, and I still believe that, but apparently you’ve never spent a lot of time between the two coasts. There are plenty of large patches of the US that are effectively 3rd world. Try rural Mississippi, or practically the entire Appalachians. The “new” economy simply doesn’t work there.

I think it’s more powerful than you may realize.  It’s one of those things that’s hard to quantify unless you seriously study such things and have produced underground memes and monitored their behavior over the years.

People all over the USA who have no idea about the incident are stumbling upon the images of a what appears (to them) to be a random image of a cop amusingly spraying various entities they are already familiar with.  They may dismiss it at first, but as they begin to see the imagery more and more, they become curious and perhaps want to “get in” on the joke.

It’s hard to believe for people that are on the Internet often, but there’s a huge percentage of average Americans who don’t have time (or the desire to make time) to watch TV news, read online news, etc., but will randomly pop into our Internet realm on rare occasions.

These memes are FOR THEM.  They’ll see this intriguing/humorous imagery everywhere and not understand it.  They’ll then Google around and then find out what it’s about or better yet ask a friend or family member about it.

It’s not the pure ridicule that’s the effective revolutionary tool, it’s the novelty and pervasiveness that makes it so effective.  Like any other healthy meme, it spread like a virus and while bringing new people into the fold, it also fosters solidarity for those already acquainted with the source of the meme.

It hits right wingers right between the eyes, because as most of us know, many right wingers have mental handicaps when it comes to being humorous and/or novel.  They are defenseless in a battle of wits.

If you support the OWS and you have a wicked sense of humor.  Help us make MOAR of these and disseminate the funniest ones.  It really does help spread the issue.

If you’re not graphically inclined, shoot some ideas out there and someone will make them.

Eh. I figured the chances of that being a troll were fairly high, but I don’t have any policy against responding to the personna a troll has decided to use. On the other hand, there’s a small but nonzero chance that this is actually a former Amerikkkan and I figured it’d be interesting to see what else they might come up with.
